The Animated Short Films nominted for an Oscar are:

  • Pearl
  • Blind Vaysha
  • Borrowed Time
  • Piper
  • Pear Cider and Cigarettes (ADULT CONTENT)

Pearl is about a girl and her father as they travel the country while he chases his dream for a singing career. Blind Vaysha is about a girl who is born with one eye that sees the past and one eye that sees the future. Borrowed time is about a sheriff who must come to terms with the death of his father which he witnessed as a child. Piper is about a baby bird who is scared to go into the water to hunt for crabs. That is until he is accidentally towed under and is able to see all of the goodies that are at the bottom of the ocean. Pear Cider and Cigarettes is an adult animated film about a man who cannot overcome his addictions. There is bad language, drug use and other adult content. If you take the kids, this is the last short, so leave before it starts! There are a few other honorable mention shorts, too. I think I liked Piper the best (and, I had seen this one already). It is just really cute and funny. I guess we'll see which one wins.
