This is a road movie starring Catherine Deneuve as an aging single woman who feels trapped in her current life. She has moved back home to take care of her mother and run the family restaurant. But the restaurant is failing and her mother is driving her crazy. One day she heads out for a quick break and finds herself driving away with no destination in mind. She eventually reconnects with her grandson and ends up on a road trip that leads to a confrontation with her past and maybe a new romance.
This is a sweet movie. If you are a Catherine Deneuve fan, then you will enjoy watching her. She is still beautiful and mesmerizing. The movie doesn't really have that much going on until the end where you find out a little more about her past and what has caused her so much pain. I thought it was fine which is probably faint praise. If you love French films, go see it. Otherwise, there are more entertaining movies.
