Idris Elba is Colin, an escaped convict who claims car trouble as an excuse to gain access to Terri (Taraji P. Henson) and her family. Colin is denied parole, so he escapes from his prison transport and steals a car. He crashes the car and is forced to knock on Terri's door to borrow the phone...he left his at home - right! Normally, Terri would not be so reckless but there is a storm raging (always a storm raging in these kinds of movies) and she is feeling a little put out by her husband who has ditched her for a golf weekend with his father. She lets him use the phone and then she lets him inside to wait for the tow truck. As they say, no good deed goes unpunished.
If you have seen the traillers, then you know the plot of this movie. Colin escapes from prison, targets Terri and her family and proceeds to terrorize her. There is a nice twist toward the end of the movie. I have to admit, I sort of felt that was where the movie might be headed, but then I sort of forgot about it. I enjoyed the movie. It was short and tense. I like both Idris Elba and Taraji B. Henson and I thought they did a fine job with a slight script. Trainer Joe and Nacho Kim both thought is was a little hokey. As trainer Joe said, it started off great and went downhill. The best part was that it was short. So, if you don't think you can just go along for the ride, you might not like this movie. But, if you are like me and like to feel a little tension and hope that the good guy wins, go see it.
