Runs 122 minutes

Based on true events, this is the story of Neerja Bhanot (Sonam Kapoor), a flight attendant on hijacked Pan Am flight 73 in 1986. It was a normal day. Neerja goes to the airport and boards her flight, as usual. She is the Head Pursor for the first time. All is normal until the plane lands in Pakistan and the flight is taken over by a group of terrorists from Libya. Neerja uses all of her skills to keep the terrorists calm, keep the passengers safe and try to get everyone off of the plane alive. She puts her own life at risk to get as many of the passengers off of the plane safely. Eventually, post-mortem she is awarded the Ashok Chakra Award, India's most prestigious gallantry award for bravery in peace time.

This is a really good movie. Since it is based on a true story, it is engrossing and suspenseful even if you might remember how everything winds up. Neerja seems like such a sweet and caring person. The entire hihjacking sequence is fraught with terror as the terrorists become more and more nervous and angry. The whole film takes place inside an airplane. It is claustrophobic - just like you were there. I didn't really remember the story so I really enjoyed the movie. Well worth it. Go see it!!
