Tobey Marshall (Aaron Paul) is a small town mechanic who drag races street cars on the side in an illegal circuit.  He, along with his friends, are barely able to keep the family business afloat so he partners with a wealthy ex-NASCAR driver Dino Brewster (Dominic Cooper) to finish building a 50th anniversary Ford Mustang with a wealthy buyer already waiting in the wings.  This appears to be the answer to his prayers until he is sucked into a disastrous street race, which leaves his best friend Pete dead and Tobey set up and sent to jail for the crime.  When he gets out of jail, his only focus is to get his revenge.  He somehow swings an invite to the infamous De Leon Street Race, run by the Monarch (Michael Keaton), where he can compete against Dino and settle the score once and for all.

I thought this movie was too long and rather tame for a street racing movie.  Don't get me wrong, the first race features one of the best car flips ever filmed and the rest of the racing, including an amazing car jump scene, is pretty phenomenal, but the plot is just run of the mill.  Aaron Paul is good.  Imogen Poots shows up as a babysitter/love interest and she is cute enough.  But overall, it's no Fast and Furious, it's just an average movie.
