Runs 106 minutes

Young Philip (Sam Claflin) is beside himself when his loving uncle/guardian (also played by Sam Claflin) dies. He begins plotting his revenge against his cousin Rachel, who Philip believes caused his guardian's death. Everything goes according to plan until Philip becomes smitten by Rachel himself. Is Rachel just a lonely and misunderstood widow looking for companionship or is she conniving and scheming and only out for herself?

I enjoyed this film. It is based on the novel by Daphne Du Maurier and I thought it was well done. Rachel Weisz was terrific, all sweet and kind, brewing up her mystery teas for anything that might ail you. But, always with that menacing undercurrent. You just aren't sure what or who to believe. The cast was great. A few times, I found myself saying - don't drink that tea, stupid. Or, why are you doing that??? I like movies that make you uncomfortable. And, in the end, you will have to decide if Rachel was just an innocent widow or did she purposely manipulate an innocent young man to get what she wanted. Did she deserve what she got? Not exactly sure. Loved it! Go see it.
