A diverse group of people with intersecting stories are all facing their own issues as Mother's Day approaches. Sandy (Jennifer Anniston) is divorced and her ex Henry (Timothy Olyphant) has just remarried a much younger women. Jesse (Kate Hudson) and her sister Gabi (Sarah Chalke) are both keeping secrets from their parents. Bradley (Jason Sudeikis) is still grieving after losing his wife. And, Miranda (Julia Roberts) is keeping a huge secret of her own. All of these people are forced to confront their issues, usually in humorous and sometimes touching ways, as they face Mother's Day and what it means to them.

The critics do not like this movie. I guess it is just too formulaic for them. It is directed by Garry Marshall and follows the same format as Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve. It is predictable and messy. But, if you liked those other films, then you will like this one. Everyone looks fantastic and the film is funny and touching in the end. The Husband, Nacho Kim and I all liked it. It is not the best movie and it will not win an Oscar, but it is heartfelt and entertaining. You know what you are getting when you enter the theater and you will not be disappointed. So if you like these kind of films, then go see it. If you are expecting an Oscar drama, then skip it.
