Johnny Depp is Charlie Mortdecai, an art dealer and sometime scalawag enlisted by the British government to help recover a stolen painting that might contain secret codes that lead to Nazi gold. He is aided by his bodyguard Jock (Paul Bettany) and his beautiful wife (Gwyneth Paltrow). He runs around visiting all of his underworld art contacts in search of the painting with angry Russians and a terrorist on his tail. 

This is not a very good movie. It is funny in parts but it is just a little too ridiculous for my taste. Half the movie is about Mortdecai and his wife fighting over his new mustache. There is even a mustache wrangler listed in the credits. Anyway, the plot is pretty lame. It does have a great cast but most everyone is wasted in small parts. I wish Johnny Depp would make a movie where he is not playing such a stupid character. If you go see this, at least go to the bargain matinee. Not worth full price.
