This is the next film in the DisneyNature series released for Earth Day each year. This follows a group of monkeys in South Asia as they scavenge for food and protect their turf. It particularly focuses on Maya and the evolution of her social status among the group. She grows into a strong female, finds her mate and has a baby. So adorable.
I loved this movie. Of course, I love animals and I love all of the DisneyNature films. I am always amazed at how up close and personal the camera is. There are a few other wild creatures out there in the jungle, too but this film mostly focuses on Maya and her group. They are driven from their home turf, head into town in search of food and then regain their territory. It is all fascinating. Go see it! Great for the whole family. Stay for the credits to see the actual filmmakers as they film these monkeys. Awesome!
