Tracy (Lola Kirke) is a lonely college Freshman in New York City. She doesn't quite feel like she fits in with her fellow classmates at Barnard College. Her Mother encourages her to call her soon-to-be stepsister Brooke (Greta Gerwig) who lives in the city and might be able to show her around town. Tracy is immediately smitten by Brooke, who seems fun and adventurous. She is soon drawn into Brooke's circle and gets involved in her new project - opening a restaurant. This leads to business meetings, bursting in on rich, old flames and even an odd incident of cat-stealing. In the end, both learn that no one is perfect, everyone screws up and friendship is not always easy.

This movie is quick witted and fast paced. Greta Gerwig and her boyfriend, Noah Baumbach, collaborated on the writing and he directed. I thought it was funny and entertaining. The character Brooke wasn't always likeable but you still pulled for her. The smaller parts were all pretty hilarious, especially Brooke's old roommate and her husband who were involved in the cat-stealing. This movie jumped all over the place and sometimes it was almost slapsticky. You had to pay attention or you might miss the next funny line. But, overall, I really enjoyed it. For fans of Indie comedies, this one is for you. Go see it.
