Don Cheadle both directs and stars in this Bio Pic about the life and music of Miles Davis. Over only a few days, a Rolling Stone Reporter, Dave Brill (Ewan McGregor) follows Miles to try to get the story on his new music release - the first in over 5 years. Instead he is dragged into a fantastical journey as he tries to help Miles get back a stolen demo tape. The movie flashes back and forth showing glimpses of Miles' younger days, his relationship with his wife and his love of the music.

This project has been Don Cheadle's baby for years. He does a great job as Miles Davis. My issue is with the movie overall, since most of it never happened. I would have rather seen a straight up Bio Pic about Miles Davis. This is more a fantastical journey which I guess represents the mad genius of Miles Davis rather than reality. There are flashes of the true story behind the man but not enough. If you love Don Cheadle and Miles Davis, then this might be for you. Otherwise, probably skip it.
