Runs 95 minutes

An infectious disease which turns its victims into cannibilistic zombies has taken over the country. The inner cities are completely destroyed. The countryside has faired slightly better, but still farmers are burning all of their crops in the hopes of stopping the spread of the disease. There are no more cell towers and people must cook and run their homes off of generators. Most vicitms of the disease are sent to quarantine where they live out their final days. Maggie (Abigail Breslin) has been bitten and contracted the disease. Her father Wade (Arnold Schwarzenegger) has brought her home to the farm so he can watch over her and be with her until the end.

Zombies are all the craze these days. This is a slightly different take on the genre. It is a much more introspective movie. There are a few frightening zombie scenes but most of the movie follows the relationship between Wade and Maggie and her final transformation into a zombie. Wade is faced with some tough decisions and you can see how difficult it is for him to watch his daughter slowly turn. And, we also see through Maggie's eyes what it is like to slowly see her young life being taken from her. This is kind of a dark and tragic movie. The acting is good and the concept is very unique. I guess I thought there would be a little more action, but overall it was pretty good. It you like these types of films, this is a decent one.
