Runs 90 minutes

Lucy (Scarlett Johansson) is an exchange student who is sort of kidnapped and forced to become a drug mule. The drugs are secured in her abdomen and she is sent on her way. However, she is beat up by some men along the way and the drugs are released into her system. These drugs allow Lucy unusual access to her brain. According to Professor Norman (Morgan Freeman), humans only access 10% of their brain function. Imagine what could be accomplished if you could access more.... Well, eventually Lucy is able to access 100% of her brain power and along with that she can control her own cells and other people. Lucy soon evolves into something for which the world is not prepared.

The premise of this movie is great. And, it starts with a bang. However, it turns into a muddled mess. It is part action movie and part science fiction/evolution hot mess. Once Lucy absorbs the drugs and starts accessing all of her brain function, everything gets weird. We start seeing flashbacks to the dinosaurs and other weird stuff. She is able to control other people at the flick of a wrist and she can ward off her captors. However, if she was that evolved, wouldn't she just figure out a way to get rid of some of the drugs in her system so that she could avoid  most of the tragic consequences she faces? And when she travels back in time (in her mind, I guess) and meets the first "Lucy", the movie just loses all sense. Unless you are a die hard sci-fi junkie, skip this one!
