Luce (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.) is a star athlete, a great student and popular with everyone at school. He is also black and adopted. His white parents Amy (Naomi Watts) and Peter (Tim Roth) rescued him from a war torn country where hs was a child soldier. With lots of love and therapy, Luce has become the poster child for success. However, after an alarming essay is submitted to his history teacher Ms. Wilson (Octavia Spencer), questions begin to arise about Luce. Now, his parents must face the fact that maybe their son isn't everything that they believed him to be. Is he the perfect son that they thought he was or is he still a troubled young man?

This movie is really good. Although, nothing is tied up with a pretty little bow at the end. The movie wants you to make your own decisions about what you think about these characters. The acting is top notch. Naomi Watts, Tim Roth and Octavia Spencer are all so good. Kelvin Harrison, Jr. is a very attractive young man. He has a beaming smile. But, it feels like there might be menace behind that smile. He does a great job. This film will keep you talking afterwards. The film moves along quickly and there is plenty of tension. We liked it. Go see it and decide for yourself.
