Runs 106 minutes

It's the Christmas tradition for the whole Cooper clan to gather together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration.  Charlotte (Diane Keaton) and Sam (John Goodman) host the family, including kids Hank (Ed Helms) and Eleanor (Olivia Wilde), Grandad Bucky (Alan Arkin), sister Emma (Marisa Tomei) and eccentric Aunt Fishy (June Squibb). Even a few unexpected visitors join in. But, this year Charlotte and Sam have some unsettling news to share and it seems that everyone else has issues, too. Will the Christmas spirit restore the family's relationships or is it already too late?

I really wanted to like this movie. It has a great cast and it looked pretty funny in the previews. But, it really isn't. The movie seems a little forced and predictable. There are various storylines. Olivia Wilde and the soldier that she picks up at the airport are pretty funny. I might enjoy a movie about them. No one else really interested me. The movie was just ok. The Husband said Ho Hum. And, he said Marisa Tomei is too good-looking to be alone. Ha! If you don't have anything else to do then you might catch a matinee. Otherwise, I would skip it. It won't be a Christmas classic.
