Runs 137 minutes

It is 2029 and most of the mutants are believed to be gone. Logan (Hugh Jackman) - no longer going by Wolverine, is barely scraping by, driving a limo and taking care of the ailing Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart). He hopes to live out his days hidiing out in Mexico and avoiding the real world at all costs. He is tired and not healing like he should be. He just wants to be left alone. But, all of that changes when Laura (Dafne Keen) is dumped on him. He soon learns that she is a mutant just like him and that evil men led by Pierce (Boyd Holbrook) will do anything to get her back. As they race to find a safe haven, bodies and carnage are left in their wake. Logan must summon all of his energy and then some to protect his new ward. Can Logan protect her from the evil forces that want to see her destroyed? Will he open his heart a crack for a young mutant who reminds him of himself?

I loved this movie! You will probably get a little more out of it if you are an X-Men fan. But, it works perfectly fine as a standalone film. Hugh Jackman is fantastic. Grumpy and unhappy, he still fights with fury, grunting and slashing away. Young Laura is a find. She is tiny and feral. I don't know who did her fight scenes but they are great. The story is action-packed and R-rated. There is plenty of violence, shooting, stabbing and beheading. But, the story is so good that it doesn't seem over the top. The language is salty but nothing like Deadpool. It is also touching and sad. You may shed a tear or two before it is over. I don't want to ruin the ending so just go see it. AND don't be late. There is a little scene/preview right before the movie that you can't miss!! (No extra scenes at the end so no need to sit through the credits unless you just want to.) LOVED IT! Best movie of 2017, so far. GO SEE IT!!
