Runs 105 minutes

Deanna (Melissa McCarthy) has just dropped her daughter Maddie (Molly Gordon) off at college for her senior year when her husband Dan (Matt Walsh) drops a bomb on her - he wants a divorce. She is distraught until she decides to join her daughter at college and finish that degree she never finished. Much to Maddie's chagrin, Deanna, now Dee Rock, fits right in with Maddie's sorority sisters and even starts dating a younger man. Maddie struggles with having her Mom around all of the time, but finally decides that Deanna deserves to fulfill her dreams, too.

Ok. I love Melissa McCarthy and I thought she was funny in this movie. The problem is that this movie is so uneven. Parts of it are hilarious and parts of it are just dull. It is kind of a rehashed plot (see Old School or Back to School). There is nothing really unique about this film. The kids are funny, the language isn't too bad and the sex is kept off screen so those are positives. However, it is predictable and a little cringe-worthy in spots. So...if you just want a few mindless laughs, then maybe see a matinee with your girlfriends. Not great but not terrible.
