Runs 124 minutes

Thirty years after his own service in Vietnam, Larry "Doc" Shepherd (Steve Carell) receives word that his only son has been killed in Iraq. Doc rounds up two of his former service buddies, Sal Nealon (Bryan Cranston) and Reverend Richard Mueller (Laurence Fishburne) to go with him to bury his son. Together they embark on a journey of laughter, sadness and rediscovery as they go with Doc to reclaim his son's body.

This is a very touching and heartfelt film. But, it is also full of laughter and friendship. We learn about these three friends and a certain past incident that drew them together all of those years ago. And, we follow them as they learn more about each other's lives today as that long ago friendship is rekindled. The acting is top-notch. Steve Carell is understated and reserved, almost hiding behind his big mustache. Bryan Cranston is raunchy and boisterous. Laurence Fishburne is almost regal, with his booming voice and deep faith. They head out tentatively to help Doc reclaim his son's body. They come home with a renewed sense of friendship and maybe a reminder of what service to your Country really means to people who pay the ultimate sacrifice. Very good film. Go see it.
