This is the documentary about Kit Lambert and Chris Stamp, the men who basically launched The Who. They really wanted to make a documentary film and thought if they could find the right band, they could manage them and film their documentary. They found a Band called High Numbers that fit the bill. They became The Who, and were so good, that Lambert & Stamp focused on managing them and their burgeoning empire and never made their film.
This was a very interesting look at the team who basically created The Who. However, I was not that familiar with "The Who". Of course, I had heard of Pete Townsend, Roger Daltry and the others and The Who's Tommy, but I was not that familiar with their music. This movie doesn't focus so much on the music but the back story. I was hoping to hear some of their great songs. Their songs were playing as background music but that was it. So, this was not so much about the music as the creation of The Who and their business empire. If you are a huge fan, then this might interest you. Otherwise, just an okay movie.
