Krisha (Krisha Fairchild) has been estranged from her family for quite some time. She emerges from exile and is invited to join the extended family for Thanksgiving. At first, everyone is glad to see her. The entire family walks on eggshells and attempts to make this a positive step forward. Gradually, old resentments begin to resurface and Krisha becomes more and more agitated. As she resorts to old crutches - mainly drugs and alcohol, she becomes more distraught and the family becomes alarmed by her behavior. Will Krisha get it under control or will the Thanksgiving dinner reunion be ruined and Krisha banished from the family forever?

This is a true indie movie. It was filmed in a family home in Texas using relatives and friends to fill out the cast. It is heart-wrenching to watch. The audience never knows for sure why Krisha has been away for so long but it appears to relate to her drug and alcohol dependency. You can feel the discomfort from the moment she arrives but the family tries to make her feel welcome. Krisha Fairchild is amazing. Her face alone is worth a thousand words. She is attractive, but she has definitely been through some trying times and it all shows on her face. Her performance alone makes this a film worth watching. The music is good when it is used to build tension then sometimes it is a little distracting. Other than that, this was a pretty good film. There is no satisfying resolution. The Husband and I came to a conclusion about what we think happened but it could be interpreted in several different ways. If you like indie films, then find this one and watch it!
