Runs 127 minutes
Mila Kunis is Jupiter, the genetic DNA match (maybe reincarnation?) of the mother of the Abrasax Clan. The Abrasax's are the immortal heirs to much of the Universe and have different reasons to want Jupiter dead. Channing Tatum is Caine, a Splice - a genetically modifed warrior - who is sent by Titus Abrasax to retrieve Jupiter from Earth. He snatches her but then becomes her protector because it seems that no one can be trusted. They fly around the galaxy and Caine rescues Jupiter from the clutches of the Abrasax siblings and gradually they fall in love. Jupiter's family is taken hostage and she must join forces with Caine to free them and return to her life on Earth.
This is a crazy movie. It is like a constant video game. It is very creative and the creatures and spaceships and foreign planets are all awesome. But, the movie is just boring. It was a good idea, but it just turned into a video game with ADHD. I love Channing Tatum, so I would watch paint dry to see him. This movie was almost like that at times. It was much more about the action than the actual plot. Trainer Joe slept through most of it and the Husband wasn't too impressed. KB (a new member of our movie group) loved it! Ha! She thought it took her away to a different place for 2 hours with Channing Tatum and she was happy. It wasn't the worst movie that I have ever seen, but there are plenty of better movies out there.
