Runs 118 minutes

Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise) is back. This time around he is dragged into a situation involving the death of some soldiers in Afghanistan from his old unit and the arrest of their commanding officer Major Turner (Cobie Smulders) in Washington D.C. Jack shows up to help out Major Turner and becomes a wanted man himself. Then, he is confronted with the fact that he may have a fifteen year-old daughter and things become even more complicated. Soon, he is on the run with Major Turner and Sam (Danika Yarosh), his maybe-daughter, trying to find out what happened overseas, why a top secret Security company is trying to kill them and what happened to some missing weapons. This government conspiracy could take them all down if Reacher can't stop them before it is too late.

This was an action packed movie. It was entertaining and the plot was interesting enough to keep you involved. I thought Cobie Smulders did a great job. She was made for that role. Tom Cruise was his usual likeable, never-aging self (one of the reasons he bothers me in this role - Jack Reacher does not grin and have dimples!!). There were plenty of scenes for Tom to flex his muscles and beat up the bad guys. But, overall, this was just a good movie, not a great one. It was a little long in the middle and having the maybe-daughter on the run with them was a little distracting. If you love Jack Reacher, then you won't want to miss this. But, if you are a fan of the books, then you might feel just a little let down like me. The books are always better and Jack Reacher is much better in my imagination than Tom Cruise can portray. Go see it anyway.
