Runs 119 minutes

The second installment in the Divergent series, where people are separated by Factions for the betterment of society. (See review of Divergent for a refresher.) This one picks up right after the destruction of the Abnegation faction. Tris (Shailene Woodley), Four (Theo James), Caleb (Ansel Elgort) and the rest of the rebels are on the run. Tris's group has been hiding out with the Amity faction but their welcome has run out. They must leave soon. Meanwhile, Jeanine (Kate Winslet) wants them found for reasons of her own. She needs a Divergent to open a secret box left by the original founders. As Tris's team connects with the Factionless group led by Evelyn (Naomi Watts), Jeanine is trying to capture Tris to open the box. Will Tris and her group manage to take out Jeanine and her group before they are caught? Will we learn what is in the secret box?

I loved this movie. I thought it was action packed and moved very quickly. There is not a lot of catch-up for those who missed Divergent but you can probably keep up if you are familiar with the story. I liked the characters and the direction this film went. And, the ending packs a punch! I can't wait for the next installment. If you are a fan, go see it!
