Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne) have a nice upper middle class life. They fix up and flip homes for a living and it keeps them busy. An offhanded comment has them re-thinking their childless existence. They decide to look into foster care and before you know it, they have taken in three siblings. Immediately, they find themselves in over their heads. They go to foster care counseling (led by Octavia Spencer and Tig Notaro - who are absolutely hilarious) and try to do everything right. But, the kids have minds of their own. When the children's real Mom makes an appearance, Pete and Ellie don't know what to do. Will they be able to make it work with these kids or have to start all over?

Nacho Kim and I loved this movie. We saw an advance screening with the director in attendance. Sean Anders not only directed the film but co-wrote it based on his own experience with adopting three children out of foster care. This movie is hilarious and touching, it is emotional and uplifting. It is perfect for the family (maybe not younger children but everyone else). Mark Wahlberg is perfect as the Dad who is in over his head the minute the kids show up. And Rose Byrne is funny and endearing as she tries so hard to get the kids to warm up to their new situation. Isabela Moner as Lizzy, the oldest of the three kids is a firecracker. The other two kid actors are pretty great, too. Overall, just a fun and heart-warming film. It will even open your eyes to the whole folster care adoption process. Really great! Go see it!!!
