Mia Hall (Chloë Grace Moretz) is a teenage girl in love with playing the cello. She doesn't have time for much else until she meets the boy of her dreams, Adam (Jamie Blackley). Even though they are very different - he is in a rock and roll band and she is into classical music - they hit it off because of their deep love of music. Unfortunately, their love could be cut short when a tragic car accident leaves Mia in a coma. While in the coma, Mia has an out-of-body experience where she is able to reflect on her life up until the accident and see all of her loved ones. Will the love of Adam and those around her be enough to make her want to stay and face her life or will she lose the will to live?

This was based on a best-selling teen book that I didn't read and it is definitely a teenage love story. The characters are likeable and Chloë does a great job playing or pretending to play the cello. It is not a bad movie. You can probably guess where the movie is headed and you may shed a few tears before it gets there. The music is pretty good with lots of variety. Take your teenage daughter and just go along for the ride.
