This is the story of Hank Williams (Tom Hiddleston). A hard-drinking country legend who only lived to 29 but left behind a body of work that influences country music to this day. The film depicts his rise to stardom, his over-bearing mother (Cherry Jones), his marriage to Audrey (Elizabeth Olsen) and his gradual descent into alcoholism leading to premature death. This is a tragic film filled with some of the greatest country songs of all time.

I liked this movie. I never realized that Hank Williams died so young. I thought that Tom Hiddleston was a very odd choice to play Hank but he has a great voice and did a good job in the role. Elizabeth Olsen was good, too. Her singing is not as good as Tom's but apparently, that was true in real life, as well. I love country music and I really liked this movie. I thought it depicted how life as a country star was back in the day. Not quite the same as today. If you are a fan of Hank Williams, then this might be the film for you. Go see it.
