At the end of Hunger Games 2, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) was rescued by Rebels. Now, she finds herself with them in fortified District 13. She is reunited with Gale (Liam Helmsworth) and convinced by President Coin (Julianne Moore) to become the Mockingjay - the face of the rebellion against the Capital. She reluctantly accepts but only if they can rescue Peta (Josh Hutcherson) as soon as possible. This might prove more difficult than expected as Peta appears to be helping the Capital lash out at the Districts as they try to fight for their freedom. Will they be able to thwart the Capital and rescue Peta? Or, will the rebellion be crushed by the Capital's evil tactics?

I thought this movie was great. It primarily serves as the set up for the upcoming war between the Rebels and the Capital. Most of the characters are back...Plutarch (Phillip Seymour Hoffman - so sad to see him), Haymitch (Woody Harrelson), Effie (Elizabeth Banks) and President Snow (Donald Sutherland) among others. The action mostly takes place in the fortified bunker so we get to spend a little more time with the characters and the acting is very strong. I liked the intimacy of the installment. But, there is still plenty of tension. And, it leaves you with the perfect transition to the final chapter. Can't wait! If you've seen the first two installments, go see it! if not, rent the others and then go!
