Runs 97 minutes

Alice Kinney (Reese Witherspoon) is a recently separated single mother. She and her two daughters Isabelle (Lola Flanery) and Rosie (Eden Grace Redfield) have moved to California to be closer to her mother Lillian (Candice Bergen) and to make a fresh start. On her birthday, Alice lets loose and meets a younger guy named Harry (Pico Alexander) and his two friends Teddy (Nat Wolff) and George (John Rudnitsky). This eventually leads to Lillian inviting them to live in Alice's guest house while they try to get their movie produced. All kinds of complications arise when Alice's husband Austen (Michael Sheen) makes a surprise appearance. Will Alice let Austen back into her life or will she find the strength to move forward on her own?

The Husband and I enjoyed this movie. It was cute, sweet and funny. Reese Witherspoon is always a pleasure to watch - she is just so likeable. Overall, the cast was great. It was fun seeing Candice Bergen in a nice role. This is not a deep film. It is a light romp with a little twist on dating a younger man. Everyone is attractive and nice. It will make you laugh and maybe shed a tear. It isn't likely to stay with you for long but it is an enjoyable way to spend 97 minutes. Go see it.
