Tom Hiddleston is Dr. Laing. It is 1970-ish in Britain and he has just moved into a new high-rise apartment building - the living space of the future with gym, pool and grocery store all contained in the building. The Architect Royal (Jeremy Irons) lives in the Penthouse, complete with outdoor terrace, walking trails, a lamb, dogs and a horse. You see, he is rich. It appears that the higher floors are reserved for the more well-to-do. When the power begins to go out, the lower floors revolt, led by Richard Wilder (Luke Evans) a documentary filmmaker. Eventually, chaos ensues and everyone becomes the worst possible form of themselves. Will anyone survive?

This movie was not good. It had a great cast - Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons, Sienna Miller, James Purefoy, Elizabeth Moss - what were they thinking? I read some of the comments about this film. Maybe it is supposed to be an allegory about capitalism and consumerism or classism. What it is is a muddled mess. When the power goes out, people start killing each other. Within hours the building is in total chaos. Why didn't these people just leave the building? It made no sense to me. SKIP IT!
