This movie is based on some of the experiences of Arielle Holmes who actually plays Harley in the movie. She and Ilya (Caleb Landry Jones) are drug addicts who live on the streets of New York. For some reason, they have a falling out and he claims that he will only forgive her if she is dead. So, she attempts to accomodate him by slitting her wrists. She lives but Ilya wants nothing to do with her so she starts hanging out with her drug dealer Mike (Buddy Duress) while still longing for Ilya. Eventually, they reconcile but their relationship is only headed for tragedy.
Heaven Knows What is an appropriate title for this film - Heaven knows what these people were thinking when they were living on the streets like this. The movie is filled with bad language and drug abuse. It almost gave me a headache just listening to them bicker and yell cuss words at each other. It did give me a stomach ache watching them ruin their lives with heroin. I guess Arielle Holmes finally rid herself of the drugs but not before experiencing the horrors of lying, stealing and anything else just to get that next fix. I can't really recommend this movie to anyone. It is really hard to watch. It is raw and uncensored. At least it is honest and does not glorify drug abuse in any way. If you do see it, just be prepared.
