Reverend Dave Hill (David A.R. White) is the Pastor at St. James Church which sits on the campus of Hadleigh University, a public university. The church has been there for 150 years and David's Father was the preacher before him. The Church comes under attack and an unfortunate incident leads to the death of one of its Pastors, Reverend Jude (Benjamin A. Onyango). Jude also happens to be Reverend Dave's best friend. Hadleigh University and its Board of Trustees, lead by Thomas Ellsworth (Ted McGinley), decide that now is the time to strike and remove St. James from the campus. Afterall, this is a public university and funds should not be used for just one religion on campus. Pastor Dave is distraught. He calls in reinforcements - his estranged brother Pearce (John Corbett) - a lawyer from Chicago. As they fight to keep St. James, they are also forced to address the issues that have kept them estranged for years. Can Reverend Dave reunite the community in support of his church and keep the doors open? Or, is God not listening?

This is an awesome movie. It is very well done. The acting is top notch. John Corbett and Ted McGinley add a lot to the film. Tatum O'Neal even pops up for a cameo. I really liked the storyline - it felt very current. I liked the way they used the media to propel the story. Even Judge Jeanine Pirro (from Fox News) shows up as a talk show host. My only complaint was the very end of the film. I understand why they ended it as they did but I was hoping for something just a little stronger. But, overall, The Husband and I loved it. It was God-centered and moving. Well worth seeing so go see it!
