Gloria (Julianne Moore) is a fifty-something year-old divorced woman who seeks out companionship at L.A. dance clubs. By day, she is a middle manager at an Insurance company. Nothing exciting but it pays the bills. By night, she loves music and she loves to dance. One evening she meets Arnold (John Turturro) another lonely, divorced single like her. They hit it off and before you know it, they are dating. She enjoys his company. They dine out and go dancing. But, something is a little off with Arnold. Soon, Gloria realizes that Arnold may not be the man she thought he was. But, she is strong and as the song says, she will survive.

This movie is good because of Julianne Moore. She is awesome. Her character's life isn't very exciting but she stays in touch with her kids and her friends. And, she sings and dances and seems pretty happy. Julianne Moore makes her interesting. John Turturro is pretty good, too. He is pretty sexy on the dance floor - you can see what Gloria sees in him right away. There isn't a lot going on in this film. There is a little family drama but mostly, this is like a slice of life film. You watch Gloria go through her daily routines and you root for her to be happy. Great acting makes this a very good movie. Go see it.
