Runs 100 minutes
Based on a true story centering on the courageous struggle of Agnes "Apple" Bailey (Vanessa Hudgens, in a transformational role) from homeless, pregnant teen to Motherhood. Apple has been in and out of foster care her whole life. She flees her Mother's (Rosario Dawson) abusive grasp and tries to find a Father (Brendan Fraser) she knows only from an old letter. Eventually, cold and hungry, she meets a compassionate stranger (James Earl Jones) who leads her to a shelter for pregnant teens. Here, she gains strength, friendship and the courage to face her future and that of her unborn child.
There is physical abuse and implied drug use. No scenes of a sexual nature and no profane language. An uplifting movie of courage and hope.
