Stella (Haley Lu Richardson) has cystic fibrosis. She spends large amounts of time in the hospital for treatments. She is very organized and follows a strict regimen when it comes to her medication and exercise. She needs a lung transplant and she plans to be ready if that ever becomes a possibility. She is best friends with Poe (Moises Arias) another teen with CF. They commiserate and laugh together. Everything changes when a new CF patient named Will (Cole Sprouse) arrives. He is moody and lazy with his medications but Stella is drawn to him. Flirtation turns to romance, but romance is dangerouse between CF patients because they could potentially catch each other's bacteria and that would be deadly. Can love grow when they must remain five feet apart at all times?

I really liked this film. Haley Lu Richardson and Cole Sprouse were both terrific and had great chemistry. I liked the story and I liked how they presented patients with CF in such a smart and responsible way. I even learned a little about the disease along the way. There is plenty of humor in this film but not everything is all happy. This is a very tough disease and these kids have plenty of bad days, too. So, the film will make you laugh and cry. You will root for Stella and Will all the while knowing that they can never even touch each other.  This is a really heartfelt film. Go see it.
