Naomi Bishop (Anna Gunn) is a Wall Street Banker. She really wants to become the new Global Head of her firm but she already has one strike against her. Now, she is lead banker on a new Tech IPO. She really needs for this to go off without a hitch. However, that is not to be. She is dating shady broker Michael Connor (James Purefoy) who may not have her best interests at heart. And, an old friend has taken a job at the U.S. Attorney's office investigating white collar crime and seems to be circling around Michael. With rumors whirling that her Tech company may have security issues and no support from from her boss, Naomi must navigate a minefield of deceit and corruption to try to take the Tech Company public and stay above reproach.

I loved this movie. I thought it depicted Wall Street, high finance and the world of IPO's in a way that was easy to follow, even for a person not well-versed in that world. The film felt like an action-packed thriller, as the characters played a high-stakes game of cat and mouse with each other. There is scandal, corruption, back-stabbing and cheating all to see who can make the most money without getting caught. And, most of the lead characters are women so it is fun to see them dealing with the issues usually reserved for men in films like this. My only slight complaint is that it was so cynical, especially the ending. It seems that in the world of high finance, the good guys don't always win. Loved it! Go see it!
