The picture of Elvis and Nixon together in the Oval Office is the most requested photo from the National Archives. This movie is the story of what might have happened in the Oval office between Elvis (Michael Shannon) and Richard Nixon (Kevin Spacey) when that picture was actually taken. Did Elvis really show Nixon his Karate moves? Was Elvis really sworn into the FBI as a secret agent at-large? No one really knows everything that happened but this humorous film takes a look at these two personalities and what might have drawn them together that day in 1970.

I really liked this movie. I giggled almost the whole film. It might not be for everyone because it is a little silly. But, Kevin Spacey and Michael Shannon give such great performances that I was just sucked in. Everything made me laugh. Egil Krogh (Colin Hanks) Nixon's right hand man was kept on his toes the entire visit. He tells Elvis not to eat the M-n-M's and not to drink the Dr. Pepper. What does Elvis do? He eats the M-n-M's and drinks the Dr. Pepper. At first, Nixon is a little put off but eventually he is just charmed by Elvis. They really seemed to hit it off. Who knows how much (If any) of this actually happened?? But, there is the picture so we know Elvis was there. This is a great imagining of the meeting that might have been. Go see it!!
