A big budget movie in China, Dragon Blade brings action and drama to U.S. audiences. When evil Roman ruler Tiberius (Adrien Brody) shows up with his legions of soldiers to take control of the Silk Road trading route, Huo An (Jackie Chan) and his Protection Unit must step up to protect the route at all costs. He recruits soldiers from 36 different ethnic tribes, including an elite squadron of displaced Roman soldiers led by General Lucious (John Cusack) to ward off the attack by Tiberius and keep the Silk Road open for business.

This is based on true events. It is an interesting story but just an average movie. There are grand battle scenes and awesome choreographed hand-to-hand fighting scenes but the movie just doesn't really grab you. It almost seemed strange to see John Cusack and Adrien Brody as hardened warriors. Anyway, if you are drawn to Chinese history, then you might find this right up your alley. Otherwise, I would probably skip it.
