This is the continuing story of the Crawley family and their large estate in the English countryside - Downton Abbey. The King and Queen are coming for a visit and that sets everyone in motion. Robert and Cora Crawley (Hugh Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern) and the rest of the family jump into planning mode, wondering how they should act around the Royals. Meanwhile, the kitchen staff, the butler and the maids are in a tizzy trying to prepare for the Royal visit. Things get turned upside down when the Royals send their own staff to take over, leading to a battle of wills between the different staffs. In the end, everything turns out just as it should and the Royals have a lovely visit.

For fans of the Downton Abbey series, this is just the ticket. All of your favorite characters are back for what feels like an extended episode of the show. I did not watch the show and I still really enjoyed the film. The humor is subtle but I love a good film about manners and decorum. All of the acting is good. Maggie Smith provides a lot of the humor with her biting remarks. Overall, a very good and entertaining film that is fine for the family, even if you didn't watch the series. Go see it.
