This is a behind-the-scenes look at the House of Christian Dior. Raf Simons has just been hired as the new artistic director, straight from the menswear side of Jil Sander, a ready-to-wear label - gasp!. He must now prepare his first Haute Couture collection in less than 8 weeks. The film follows Raf as he gets to know all of the behind the scenes players, the sketchers, the seamstresses and even the models. This is an inside look at a true collaboration of love and fashion.

If you like fashion, this is a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at all of the people it takes to put together a Haute Couture collection. As my friend Vicki said, "Now I know why Designer labels cost so much". There are a lot of different hands that touch each garment before it is ready to be shown. At one point, there were about 8 people meticulously taking beads off of a dress one by one. It took them all night. For one dress! The film mentioned one person that spent about 350,000 Euros on clothes. That's a serious wardrobe. Anyway, this is a fun, fashion filled film. There are some cameos of famous people that attend the runway show. It is fun picking them out. I only wish I could have had longer looks at all of the clothes as the models walked by. I think the creation of the clothes was more important than the actual finished product but I would still have liked to be able to admire the clothes a little more. For the fashionista, go see it!
