Runs 91 minutes

In a re-boot of the Wimpy kid series, we find Greg (Jason Drucker) on a road trip with his older brother Rodrick (Charlie Wright), his younger brother Manny (Dylan/Wyatt Waters) and his parents Susan (Alicia Siverstone) and Frank (Tom Everett Scott). They are headed to Grandma's 90th birthday party. Of course, Greg sees the trip as a chance to improve his reputation at school by stopping off at a gaming convention and getting on You Tube with famous gamer Mac Digby (Joshua Hoover). He re-programs the GPS and off they go. Along the way, they must surrender their electronic devices so they can bond as a family. Hilarity ensues as they feud with another family, stay at a roach infested motel, get attacked by pigeons and barely make it to Grandma's house in one piece.

This movie has been panned by critics. It isn't that bad. It is a KID'S movie. It is about appreciating family and spending time with them. It is cute and funny. It is not meant to be an Academy Award winner. It is harmless and humorous. You can take the kids and have a few laughs without worrying about language or anything else. If you are going out for date night, this might not be the film to see. If you are taking your kids out, then this might fit the bill. You decide. It was predictable but it still made me laugh.
