Brad Whitaker (Will Ferrell) is married to Sara (Linda Cardellini) and proud stepfather to her two children Megan and Dylan. He feels that the kids are finally starting to bond with him, asking his advice and including him in family drawings. Then, everything is turned upside down when the kids real dad Dusty Mayron (Mark Wahlberg) shows up. He is the typical bad boy, handsome, fit and good at everything. Soon Brad is drawn into a competition for the kids affections - one that Brad appears to have no chance of winning. Can Brad prove to be the bigger man in the family afterall?

This movie was much funnier than any of us expected. The Husband agreed to go because he figured he could at least take a nap. Wrong - he was too busy laughing. And, our friend Desmond was giggling like crazy. It was PG-13 but still pretty family friendly. It was silly and entertaining. Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg were perfectly cast and they definitely know how to play off of each other. Thomas Haden Church was Brad's boss and he had everyone laughing the minute he walked into the scene. Hannibal Buress played Griff, the handyman who just moved in with the family. He was hilarious. Again, it wasn't deep or anything but it was funny with a good message on the importance of family. Go see it for a good laugh.
