Adonis "Donny" Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) is the youngest son of the famous Apollo Creed, born after his death and illegitimate. He has been fighting for respect his whole life. His Father's wife (Phylicia Rashad) takes him in when he is a young boy but he never really feels at home except in the boxing ring. Eventually, he leaves his repectable job and decides to fight full time. He heads to Philadelphia and looks up his Father's old rival and friend Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone). He convinces Rocky to mentor and train him over every objection in the book. He slowly begins to earn Rocky's respect. Soon, he is offered a chance to fight the top boxer, pound for pound, in the world. He and Rocky work together to prepare for the biggest challenge he has ever faced. Along the way, he must help Rocky come face to face with a difficult situation, as well. Both men must lean on each other to make it through their challenges and realize that they really are "family" after all.

I loved this movie. I am a big Rocky fan so I had high hopes and I wasn't disappointed. Michael B. Jordan was perfectly cast as Adonis "Donny" Johnson. You can tell he worked his butt off to look great and comfortable in the boxing ring. And, Sylvester Stallone - Wow. This is his best film in a long time. He is terrific as the aging boxer, willing to take a backseat to the new generation. This movie has heart. It is touching and funny. The action is just fantastic. It is like you are in the ring with the boxers taking hits. This is the perfect film for the whole family. Maybe a little predictable but so what. Just great entertainment, great acting, and a feel good spirit. Go see it!!
