This is a documentary about the famed Trauma Bay (C Booth - Critical Booth) at L.A. County General. This follows a group of interns as they move through their rotations in this crazy, adrenaline-packed ER. Before they move to their sparkling new building, the trauma bay consisted of three beds. They would all triage whoever landed in those beds in the middle of the department. The quicker they worked on someone, the quicker they could see the next patient. Once they move to their new facility, the rush fades. They are faced with HIPPA and Obamacare and reality sets in. It is an interesting contrast between the facilities and how Healthcare has been affected by bureaucracy.
This is a great movie. It provides a front row seat to how triage medicine was performed and how it has changed since Obamacare. This is not for the faint of heart. There is a lot of blood and guts in this movie. But, it is fascinating. These residents are all good looking and well-intentioned. I really enjoyed this film and highly recommend it if you have any interest in healthcare at all.
