Chef Carl Casper (Jon Favreau, who also wrote and directed the film) works for a trendy restaurant in Los Angeles owned by his boss Dustin Hoffman. When a famous food blogger, Ramsey Michel (Oliver Platt), visits the restaurant and finds the food uninspired (only 2 stars!) it sends Carl into a tailspin. He really doesn't understand blogging or social media, so he gets his cute but neglected son Percy (Emjay Anthony) to teach him how to use Twitter. He unknowingly starts a Twitter war with Ramsey and ends up out of a job. At his ex-wife's (Sofia Vergara) urging, and with the help of his best friend Martin (John Leguizamo) and his son, he starts over with a food truck and recaptures his love of cooking.
This is a very heart-warming film about food and family. And it is pretty funny. Even Trainer Joe thought it was a good movie and he is pretty hard to please. It is an ensemble movie (Favreau's Ironman co-stars Robert Downey, Jr. and Scarlett Johansson even make cameo appearances) and you can tell that everyone was having a good time making this film. It was almost like watching food porn so don't go hungry. I would highly recommend it. Now, I have to go eat.
