Runs 97 minutes

Ashley Smith (Kate Mara) is a recovering Meth addict and single mother working hard to turn her life around and get her little girl back. Brian Nichols (David Oyelowo) is a criminal on trial for rape when he brutally kills the judge and other courtroom officials and escapes. Their lives fatefully converge when Brian takes Ashley hostage in her own apartment as he hides from the authorities. In the end, It seems that maybe God does have a purpose for Ashley's life, afterall.

This movie is based on a true story. Ashley faced a harrowing situation and without really thinking, she began to read the "Purpose Driven Life" to Brian. That, along with some other factors, eventually led to her release before she was harmed. It really was a miracle considering all of the other violence that Brian had perpetrated. God must have been at work that night to keep Ashley safe. The performances are great. My only quibble with the film is that it is being called a faith-based film, but not very much of the film is devoted to that. But, in the end, it is well-done, suspenseful and uplifting. Go see it.
