Runs 104 minutes

Brittany (Jillian Bell) is a 27 year-old girl child. She works as an usher at the theatre and spends all of her time out partying, drinking too much and not taking care of herself. She decides that she needs a prescription for Adderall to improve her focus. Of course, the Doctor tells her that what she needs is to drop 50 pounds and get healthy. At first she is insulted, but gradually realizes that maybe she does need a little exercise. She tries to join a gym but that actually costs money. It is free to run outside so that is what she decides to do. Her neighbor Moneybags Martha (Michaela Watkins), as Brittany calls her, encourages Brittany to join her running group. Soon, Brittany runs one block, then two! Before you know it, Brittany has new running friends and has signed up for the New York City Marathon. Now, she just needs to straighten up the rest of her life.

This is currently one of my favorite movies out right now. It is very funny and sarcastic. Maybe even a little mean. It is also redemptive and endearing. Brittany is really unhappy at the beginning of the film. She has a meaningless job and spends all of her time partying. But, as she takes up running she also grows up just a little bit. She sets small goals and meets new people. Once she sets her sights on running the New York marathon, she can begin to think about jump starting her life and career, too. The whole cast in this film is great. Michaela Watkins, Lil Rel Howery and Utkarsh Ambudkar are all really good. The film will make you laugh and even shed a small tear or two. It is a great movie for friends or even a date. Go see it.
