This is the American remake of the French movie District B13. In one of Paul Walker's last movies, he stars as Damien Collier, a Detroit Police officer. This is the Detroit of the near future, which is so crime-ridden that the worst of the worst who live in the Brick Mansion tenements have been walled off from the rest of the population and basically left to fend for themselves. Damien is one of the few cops who will dare to enter the walled off part of town and he is recruited to help bring down a Crime Lord (Tremaine played by RZA) who has stolen a shipment containing a nuclear weapon. He is teamed up with Lino (David Belle, from the original movie) who is a semi-criminal trying to make the best of living in the Brick Mansions. Together they infiltrate Tremaine's territory only discover that things aren't what they seem.
This is an action movie with great stunts and choreography. The plot is a little thin and if you saw the original, then this is basically the same story. I like Paul Walker and I wanted to see him in one of his last films. It is sad to think that he is gone. I enjoyed the movie for what it was, but it is one that you can probably wait and catch on DVD.
