Runs 132 minutes

Samantha O'Dwyer (Lili Simmons) is summoned to the Sheriff's office when a drifter needs medical attention and the town Doctor has had just a little too much to drink. Sheriff Hunt (Kurt Russell) didn't realize that the drifter had committed some grievous sins before he was locked up, including trampling on the ancient burial ground of a cave-dwelling cannibilistic tribe of some sort. Some of the Tribesmen show up to get the drifter and kidnap Mrs. O'Dwyer and a young deputy, as well. The Sheriff rounds up a posse to go after them, including Mr. O'Dwyer (Patrick Wilson - who has a broken leg but won't be left behind), Deputy Sheriff Chicory (Richard Jenkins) and John Brooder (Matthew Fox), another townsman. Little did they know what they would find when they finally reach the cave where the prisoners are being held. Will anyone make it out alive?

I really liked this movie. It is very graphic. It might not be for everyone but I think the violence and disturbing images are probably pretty true to life as it was in the Western Frontier. Once they hit the Cannibal's cave, it almost plays like a horror movie, so be prepared for some gruesome images. But, it is such a good film. I'm not normally a huge Western fan, but I thought the cast was great. I liked that they wore suits when they set out on their horses and that they spoke such a civilized and formal version of English. And, Richard Jenkins was a hoot with his commentary on almost everything and everyone. I didn't really know what to expect going in and I was pleasantly surprised. If you are a fan of the cast of this film and you can stand a little horror thrown into your Western, this might be for you. Go see it.
