Runs 90 minutes

Lillian (Julia Stiles) has returned to the small town of her childhood upon her Mother's passing. She is becoming reacquainted with the townspeople and the slow pace of life. That is until she starts getting harassed by a violent ex-cop turned crimelord named Blackway (Ray Liotta). When she reports the harassment, the Sheriff tells her that she migjht as well leave town because no one messes with Blackway. She refuses his advice and recruits an old ex-logger named Lester (Anthony Hopkins) and a stuttering younster named Nate (Alexander Ludwig) to help her root out Blackway and do whatever it takes to end the harassment once and for all.

This movie is described as a thriller but it isn't very thrilling. It is just a straight-forward get the bad guy movie. It really didn't make sense how the whole town could be afraid of one man. Surely, they could have banded together and ousted him long ago. But, then there wouldn't have been this movie. The film tried hard to be taut and atmospheric. It was just kind of dull. And, the ending was a bit of a let down. The cast was top-notch. I'm just not sure what they were all doing in this movie. Not very much. I'd skip it.
