Captain Robinson (Jude Law) is let go from his job as a submarine commander leading salvage expeditions for a large company. Technology has made him somewhat redundant. Still hoping to prove his worth and to make some fast money, he accepts a job captaining a submarine in the search for gold that was supposedly sunk in a Russian U-boat during World War II. He assembles his crew, including British and Russian sailors and they set off to search for the gold and hope to stay below the Russian Navy's sonar.  In addition, the Russians and Brits do not trust each other and the working conditions are not optimal. When they run into maintenance issues 300 feet below the surface, they are forced to make a difficult choice.

This was a pretty decent thriller. It was naturally claustrophobic being filmed almost entirely in a submarine below the water. It felt authentic and even though the characters were a little cliched, they were still adequately developed. Jude Law was fantastic. He has been getting better and better as he ages. If you like Jude Law and a nice submarine thirller, then this is for you.
